What are we fighting for?

I just read this blog on Life in Bangalore. Reading through the comments made me wonder are we fighting for?
Link here: http://sanjukta.wordpress.com/2007/03/08/life-in-bangalore-ii/

People around the globe just find reasons to call themselves superior to others. The reasons are many:
Religion
Country
North-South
  North America-South America
  North Korea-South Korea
  North China-South China
  North India-South India
Language
High Caste-Low Caste
White-Black-Brown
Rich-Poor

Is there really anything one can do to about it? This goes as far as human (ape) started communicating I guess and no one needs to search google or wikipedia for that. I sometimes just laugh over it. Human by nature is selfish. I don't think this will ever end.

People who understand this on a more general scale, understand that different cultures have different values. Some cultures are old, developed over times, survived the highs and lows of society. Cultures inspired by several others have the mixture of good and bad. All cultures throughout the ancient times have been influenced by two things, religion and wealth. Knowledge means nothing to the idiots who brag about there own culture. Do you know everything under sun or is your knowledge base the one ultimate thing everyone should dream about? One culture/religion is never superior over others neither comparable. Nothing in the world can be generalized. One can find like minded people every where, good, bad, ugly, beautiful, tall, short, thieves, saints (some irony here). Its up to the individual to act sensibly and behave in a manner not to hurt others. Live and let live.

If a natural disaster strikes, no one thinks if he is from North or South. People from world over come forward to help. If there is a national movement, no one thinks if they speak hindi or english or kannada or bengali. They fight for the cause.

The solution lies in how you deal with the situation and re-act to it. It may be as simple as learning few local words and keep people feel comfortable or as complex as pack your bags and leave to some place where you feel you won't find idiots. Choice, you see!
